Designing complex products with clarity, structure, and long-term thinking.

I'm Aleksandr Subbotin, a Senior Product Designer with 16+ years of experience designing B2B SaaS, enterprise software, admin systems, dashboards, and cross-platform applications.

My work focuses on simplifying complex workflows, improving usability in data-heavy interfaces, and building scalable product experiences across web, desktop, and mobile platforms.

My Background

I started my career in digital design over a decade ago and gradually moved into product design, enterprise UX, and complex software systems.

Over the years, I've worked on password managers, synchronization tools, government dashboards, social platforms, browser extensions, mobile apps, and enterprise admin systems.

Much of my experience comes from long-term product work, where design is not just about creating screens, but about continuously improving workflows, reducing friction, and helping teams maintain consistency across growing platforms.

I enjoy working on products where usability directly affects productivity, trust, and decision-making.

Approach

How I Approach Product Design

I care deeply about clarity, structure, and real-world usability.

My approach combines:

Systems thinkingInteraction designUser researchInformation architectureAI-assisted prototypingScalable design systemsClose collaboration with developers and stakeholders

I'm especially interested in complex workflows, role-based systems, dashboards, enterprise products, and cross-platform ecosystems where design decisions have long-term impact.

AI-assisted product design and prototyping: using AI to explore product models, structure complex workflows, improve UX writing, and build reviewable web prototypes.

Rather than focusing on visual trends, I focus on helping users confidently accomplish difficult tasks.

Learning

Continuous Learning

I continuously study product design, UX strategy, interaction design, accessibility, and systems thinking.

Completed courses and certifications include:

I also completed coursework with the Interaction Design Foundation.

I regularly analyze usability testing sessions, competitor products, and evolving interaction patterns to improve both design quality and product thinking.

Personal

Outside of Design

Outside of product design, I write music and enjoy bicycle travel, especially longer trips that combine route planning, endurance, and a close look at everyday systems in different places.

I'm also interested in interaction patterns, interface systems, and how complex tools can become more understandable through thoughtful design.
